How to Measure Bra Size

How to Measure Bra Size

Finding the right bra size makes all the difference. A well-fitted bra supports you comfortably, improves posture and helps your clothes sit better. At Luva Huva, we make sustainably crafted bras that are designed to fit beautifully — but it starts with knowing your size.

What You’ll Need

  • A soft measuring tape
  • A mirror
  • A non-padded bra you already find comfortable

Step 1: Measure Your Band Size

  1. Stand straight and wrap the tape around your ribcage, just under your bust.
  2. Keep it snug but not tight.
  3. Round the measurement to the nearest whole number in centimetres.
  4. If it’s an even number, that’s your band size. If it’s odd, round up to the next even number.
    1. Example: 79 cm becomes 80 cm.

Step 2: Measure Your Bust

  1. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust.
  2. Make sure it’s level across your back and not pulled tight.
  3. Round to the nearest centimetre again.

Step 3: Find Your Cup Size

Subtract your band measurement from your bust measurement. The difference gives you your cup size:

Difference (cm) Cup Size
10–12 A
13–14 B
15–17 C
18–20 D
21–23 DD
24–25 E
26–27 F

For example, if your bust is 95 cm and your band is 80 cm, the difference is 15 cm, which means a C cup. Your size is 80C.

Step 4: Check the Fit

Try on your bra and look for these signs of a good fit:

  • The band sits flat against your ribcage without riding up.
  • The cups fully hold your breasts without gaping or spilling.
  • The straps rest comfortably on your shoulders without digging in.
  • You can fit two fingers under the band and one under each strap.

If it doesn’t feel right, adjust the straps or try a different size. Every fabric and style fits a little differently, especially with natural materials like bamboo and organic cotton.
